Handmade recipe book

Designed to be accessible for all primary aged children, this activity guides you and your pupils through the simple steps to design and make their own recipe book. This could be carried out as part of a design and technology or maths lesson, and is simple to follow, making it suitable for learning at home and in class. Mapped to the UK curricula, this resource is designed in the theme of ‘celebration’ allowing children to have fun, whilst applying their maths and design and technology skills. This resource focuses on the designing and making of a recipe book for food items that could be served at a street party celebrating the occasion. In this activity, learners will research ideas for recipes or create their own and present them in a book format. They will then learn how to bind their book together, ready to cook for the party.
